Jay Z took to Twitter in defense of his new streaming service, Tidal. In a series of tweets using the hashtag #TidalFacts, the music mogul stood up for the product in the wake of critics calling it a failure.

In his comments Jay Z stressed the importance of paying the artists for their work noting "We are here for the long haul."

Jay Z co-owns Tidal with some major names in the music world, including his wife, Beyonce, along with Madonna, Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Daft Punk. Their goal, they say is to give "fans more without the middlemen."

Tidal is attempting to attract music listeners with exclusive content, such as this Beyonce track.
