Bruce Springsteen keeps on rocking as he turns 65

Glory days, they'll pass you by...

But for Bruce Springsteen, who turns 65 today (Sept. 23), he's still living in them.

The rocker continues to tour, release albums and attract avid fans that only seem to be growing in number with each passing year. How many 65-year-old rockers do you know who can pack stadium shows night after night? Gosh, it's nearly impossible to get a ticket to see one of his epic three-and-a-half-hour-long concerts complete with crowd-surfing and full-on slides across the stage.

To celebrate his 65th birthday, SiriusXM's Springsteen-only station, E Street Radio, will pay tribute today with a special playlist featuring The Boss as guest DJ.

On Saturday, Monmouth University hosted a daylong symposium, dubbed "Fifty Years of 'Making' This Guitar Talk: A Bruce Springsteen Forum." Also this year, a Bruce Springsteen online academic journal founded by a University of Virginia graduate student, made its debut.

In January, Springsteen released his 18th studio album, "High Hopes," and fans shouldn't be surprised if the New Jersey rocker unveils more material soon. Springsteen is always writing (or at least has a notebook filled with never-before-released lyrics kicking around), so we'll patiently wait until he decides to release some more tunes.

Meanwhile, Springsteen continues to chart new territory, making his directorial debut with the short film for the song "Hunter of Invisible Game" this past summer.

Springsteen will soon headline the Stand Up for Heroes benefit in New York on Nov. 5, which will feature appearances by Louis C.K., John Oliver and Brian Williams. He also has an illustrated children's book coming out next month.

Whew, this guy is busy -- and, might we add, looks great at 65.

So here's to you Bruce Springsteen. May you keep on rockin' so we can keep on having a "reason to believe."

We'll see you "further on up on the road."
