Entertainment buzz: Facebook's top moments of the week

It was a big week in the world of entertainment, from a Betty White birthday surprise to some un-motherly Instagram posts from Amber Rose.

Facebook has tallied the top 10 hottest stories in entertainment this week. What had you talking? What popped up most on news feeds across the U.S.? What did you miss on your Facebook feed because your New Year's resolution was to go on Facebook less?

1. Bravo reality TV star Greg Plitt dies

This week the world tragically lost reality star and fitness model Greg Plitt after he was struck by a train during a promotional shoot for his website. He was 37.


2. Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper" takes top spot at the box office

"American Sniper" shot to the top of the box office this week. It's brought in almost as much money as it has controversy, as celebrities like Seth Rogen and Dean Cain chimed in with their opinions on it.


3. Betty White celebrates 93rd birthday

Betty White got a birthday surprise -- in the form of a flash mob. While being driven to the set of "Hot in Cleveland," the cast and crew got together to ambush White, in pretty much the cutest video on the planet:


4. Amber Rose posts bikini pictures on Instagram

Amber Rose heated things up on Instagram this week, posting racy photos of herself with captions about not listening to the haters who say moms can't still look great. Wiz Khalifa, you let go of a true gem.


5. Dashcam video shows Dover police officer singing Taylor Swift

This might be the best Taylor Swift cover we've seen. And no, it's not from an amateur musician, but from a cop. Check out this Dover, Colorado, police officer singing "Shake if Off."


6. Kevin Hart hosts "Saturday Night Live"

Comedian Kevin Hart, who's out with the movie "The Wedding Ringer," hosted the past week's "Saturday Night Live." Perhaps his funniest clip was his "Bushwick, Brooklyn 2015" sketch, which pokes fun at how the mean streets of the Bushwick area of Brooklyn have changed over the years.


7. New Kids on the Block to tour with TLC and Nelly this summer

It's the ultimate throwback show! Nelly, NKOTB and TLC are teaming up for a tour this summer. Can we buy tickets yet?



8. Miss Israel's selfie with Miss Lebanon causes controversy

Donald Trump is weighing in on the selfie seen around the world.

Miss Israel (Doron Matalon) posted a photo to Instagram Sunday showing Miss Lebanon (Saly Greige) standing next to her. The picture caused an outrage in Lebanon, with Lebanon's Daily Star newspaper describing the scene as a "photobombing" by Miss Israel. Trump has one message: "No more fighting."


9. "True Detective" director to direct film adaptation of Stephen King's "It"

Cary Fukunaga is a man who knows how to scare people. After knocking it out of the park with the first season of the harrowing "True Detective," he's signed on to direct an adaptation of Stephen King's "It."


10. David Duchovny says he'd be excited to reprise his role if "X-Files" returns

Agent Mulder is on board! Though nothing has been confirmed, both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have said their interested in reprising their "X-File" roles.
