Jennifer Lopez: "I've felt abused" in past relationships

Jennifer Lopez isn't holding back about dark moments in some of her past relationships.

The entertainer claims in her upcoming memoir "True Love" to have felt abused at certain times in her love life.

Without naming names, Lopez writes, "I've never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I've felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally."

She also writes, "Every day that you don't walk out that door, every day you accept things in your partner and in yourself, is a day that you're saying it's okay."

Lopez, 45, recently told People magazine that she never intended to reveal such personal details in her latest book.

"It started out as a fan book, a diary of the years I went on tour," Lopez told the magazine. "But it turned into something else. As I started looking at things, it helped me face a lot. I would never go into specifics about my relationships, and I don't. But the idea was that I learned something."

Lopez has been married three times, with each union ending in divorce. She first tied the knot to waiter Ojani Noa in 1997 -- the couple split less than a year later. Her second marriage was to dancer Chris Judd from 2001-2003.

In 2004, Lopez married fellow singer Marc Anthony -- their divorce was finalized in June. Lopez and Anthony are the parents of twins Max and Emme, born in 2008.

In "True Love," Lopez reveals that she realized her marriage to Anthony was over after having a panic attack shortly following their 7th wedding anniversary.

Anthony for his part has been supportive of the new book, Lopez says.

"He read it and said, 'Wow, I didn't realize you were going through this whole journey,'" Lopez said. "We try to be supportive of each other. We feel that's the best thing for our kids."

Lopez, who split from boyfriend Casper Smart earlier this year, has recently hinted that she may adopt a child in the near future.

"True Love" will be available for purchase on Nov. 4.
