The telecast will be produced by dick clark productions, which has overseen the awards show each year since it first began airing in 1974 on ABC.

"World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row," the rapper said in a statement. "The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and dick clark productions for the amazing opportunity -- more than anything let's get ready to have fun."

Pitbull then finished his statement with his signature "Dale!" -- which roughly translated means "do it" or "give it" in Spanish.

AMAs producer Larry Klein is promising a memorable show for viewers at home.

"Pitbull is a global superstar and multi-talented powerhouse, who delivered one of the most exciting shows in American Music Awards history when he hosted in 2013. This year will be no different," Klein said. "We're working together to create elements of the show that will wow audiences and take the night to a whole new level."

In addition to hosting, Pitbull is also slated to perform a new track from his upcoming album "Globalization," due out Nov. 24.

The rapper joins Charli XCX on the list of confirmed entertainers scheduled to perform. Additional performers are expected to be announced at a later date.

The awards nominations were previously announced earlier this month, with Iggy Azalea scoring six nods -- more than any other recording artist.

Fans can vote here for the nominees they want to win.

The 2014 American Music Awards will air live Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
