Super Bowl 50: Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars team up at halftime

Three very different musical forces teamed up at Super Bowl 50 during the game's halftime show.

The stadium took on a colorful look as the stands and the field filled up with people wearing bright shirts in every shade of the rainbow. Coldplay opened the show with "Viva La Vida," then moved onto "Paradise" before breaking into the band's recent hit, "Adventure of a Lifetime." Chris Martin wore jeans and a blazer pinned with brightly colored patches and the stage was covered in Indian-inspired garlands -- the decor had a similar aesthetic to Coldplay's new music video with Beyonce, "Hymn for the Weekend."

The band's relaxed beats picked up as the camera panned to Mark Ronson on his turntables. Bruno Mars and his crew turned up the energy and took the stage in black pleather outfits to sing "Uptown Funk," complete with fancy footwork.

Finally, the Queen arrived -- Queen Bey, that is -- in a marching band inspired jacket and a unitard.

The biggest surprise of the show came when Beyonce, who just dropped the song "Formation" on Saturday, performed the new single along with her backup dancers as flames blazed behind them on the field. Soon, she and Mars walked toward each other as they faced each other in a sing-off, eventually making their way back to "Uptown Funk" as Chris Martin joined the pair on stage.

Martin returned with the Coldplay classic "Fix You," and Beyonce and Mars joined the band to wrap up the show with "Up&Up," a song from Coldplay's new album.
