J.K. Simmons gets the "Whiplash" treatment in his "SNL" promos

J.K. Simmons is getting a taste of his own "Whiplash" medicine ahead of hosting "Saturday Night Live."

In the film, Simmons plays a music teacher who demands perfection from his students, or else. In his "SNL" promos, Kenan Thompson tries to keep the Oscar nominee on tempo, then gets physical when he can't get it right.

The two also poked fun at the panic over the snowstorm that hit New York City earlier this week, and Thompson tried to guess what the "J.K." in J.K. Simmons stands for. If you thought it was "Jungle Khaki" or "Jellybean Kink," keep on guessing.

Simmons is hosting "SNL" this Saturday, with D'Angelo as the musical guest.
