Amanda Bynes' parents not sure of her whereabouts

Amanda Bynes is M.I.A., according to her father.

The former child star's dad Rick Bynes told X17 that he has not seen or heard from his daughter following her arrest this weekend on suspicion of DUI. He also said he was not even aware that she had been taken into custody until being notified by reporters.

"We know nothing about this. We were called by the press," Rick Bynes said. "I'm getting calls all day long. That's all I know."

Amanda Bynes was arrested by California Highway Patrol Sunday at around 4 a.m. in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles and was released hours later after posting $15,000 bail.

In 2013, the actress' mother was granted temporary conservatorship over her daughter while she was being treated at a facility for mental health issues.

That was not the case this time around, and Bynes' father says she could be anywhere.

"She's 28. She does what she wants," he said.

Bynes had previously been arrested for DUI in 2012 and is currently serving three years probation in that case. It's unclear as of yet how her current charges will affect her probation.

Bynes is due to appear in court on Oct. 23, CBS Los Angeles reports.

In May, the actress looked noticeably healthy on Twitter in a photo that featured her sister, Jillian Bynes:
