Thursday night's Red Nose Day special on NBC brought the celebrities, the laughs, the tears and the money - raising at least $10 million by the halfway point of the three-hour, star-studded telethon benefiting suffering children in Africa and around the world. According to Red Nose Day UK's website, the charity function raised about $121 million all together for 2015.

But hosts Seth Meyers, David Duchovny and Jane Krakowski and the dozens of A-list celebrities might have raised even more laughs than money while ramping up support during the first American TV special for the British charity that began its annual fundraising entertainment extravaganza in 1988.

Entertainment's greatest lent their talent and their time to illuminating the need to help children and families in the world's poorest countries with touching segments, such as Jack Black's devastating profile of a 12-year-old Ugandan orphan boy, along with and back-to-back satire from Hollywood's biggest stars. Seth Meyers and Chris Pine got the celeb-recruitment started with a hilarious phone-tree saga, Nick Cannon kicked the party into gear with a 24-hour Times Square danceathon and from there on the good times rolled.
