Cara Delevingne lands lead in John Green's "Paper Towns"

Model Cara Delevingne has landed a major movie role.

The 22-year-old Brit will be the female lead in a film adaptation of John Green's "Paper Towns."

Green, who also penned "The Fault in our Stars," shared the news with his Twitter followers on Tuesday:

She will play Margo Roth Spiegelman, alongside Nat Wolff (who appeared in "TFIOS") as the male lead, Quentin Jacobson. The two are young neighbors who grew apart as they got older - until one night when Margo appears at his bedroom window dressed as a ninja and enlists him in a campaign to get revenge on those who've hurt her. The next day, she disappears and he must to decipher clues to try and find her.

On Twitter, Green said Delevingne's audition "blew everyone away."

Delevingne is mostly known for her fashion work (and perhaps also for her offbeat Instagram account), but she's slowly begun branching out into acting. She had a small part in 2012's "Anna Karenina," directed by Joe Wright, and appeared in "The Face of an Angel" alongside Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl. She also has a role in Wright's upcoming film "Pan."
