Amanda Bynes returns to school

Amanda Bynes is back on track at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) is Los Angeles.

Bynes, who has struggled with mental illness over the past year and a half, is pursuing studies in fashion, her family's lawyer Tamar Arminak told Us Weekly.

The "What A Girl Wants" star started at FIDM in early 2014, but stopped after she was put under a psychiatric hold.

The actress, who was in "Easy A," went under the radar after some very public shows of erratic behavior. Bynes returned to social media in August, when she showed off her newly blonde locks in a photo from a charity gala.

"We are all so proud of her, and can't wait to see her amazing designs on the runway someday," Arminak said.

Bynes seems to be solidly on the road to recovery. Esquibias said in June of the former child star: "Amanda is doing great. She appreciates all of the love and support she receives from family, friends, and fans."
