Miranda Lambert's brood of pets just added a new member.

The recently divorced singer posted a picture of her cute new kitten on Instagram and explained how she came to adopt the furball.

Lambert wrote: "'Play me a song Curtis Loew Curtis Loew' ....When your friend@harps226 comes to visit and says 'oh by the way I picked up a stray kitten on the highway in Arkansas and it's in the garage'. And then she smile's this innocent smile. Guess who has a kitten now?@muttnationfoundation #friendsthatrescue#curtisloewcat #cateyes #ohlordy"

The country star is a self-professed animal lover. She and ex-husband Blake Sheldon had six dogs, as of July 2014.

"Three of them are from shelters and three of them are from the side of the road," Lambert told CBS News last July. "In the evenings, we throw the ball and they all race to get it. We take them to the lake every couple of weeks ... It's family day."

Lambert is an animal activist and even has her own charity, Mutt Nation Foundation. Last year, she released a documentary with Pedigree's "See What Good Food Can Do initiative" about her passion for pets and the renovation of her hometown shelter.
