Larry David hoping for more "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" fans aren't the only ones crossing their fingers for more episodes - the man behind the hit show is too.

Larry David recently told the audience at a Q&A that he's still hoping to bring back the HBO series, which is on hiatus after eight seasons.

"I haven't given up the hope," David said, according to LA Weekly. That answer prompted cheers from the crowd.

"If I don't get that kind of feedback, honestly, I wouldn't have thought of [bringing it back] any more," he added. "I actually feel badly I don't have shows for them."

David also said this about the future of the series, according to Variety: "After eight seasons on 'Curb,' I'm just not sure my ideas are gonna be good enough for a whole season." (When someone in the audience called out "Yes, they will!" David replied, "I've been heckled a lot, but that was the nicest one.")

The comments were made during the "Citi Presents Larry David and David Steinberg in Conversation" on Sunday at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. He's currently gearing up for the opening of his Broadway play "Fish in the Dark," which begins previews in February.
