Watch: Boy's roller coaster ride takes terrifying turn after seat belt mishap

AMARILLO, Texas -- A video shared on Facebook shows the terrifying moments after a 6-year-old boy's seat belt released while on a roller coast ride in Texas, CBS affiliate WTVR reported.

Delbert Latham and his son, Kaysen, were on the Mouse Trap roller coaster at Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo, Texas, when the seat belt freed, the father posted on Facebook.

Latham said his son slid to the bottom of the car. He quickly grabbed him and held on to him until the ride stopped.

Along with the video posted to Facebook, he wrote: "What makes it worse is when I told the guy at the end of the ride he stated that he knew that had happened sometimes!! Really it's already happens and you continue to let people ride??!!"

Delbert said he was recording his son on the ride so his wife could watch it, WTVR reported.

In a statement to People Magazine, the park said they removed the cart from service.

"Wonderland immediately reached back out to Mr. Latham the evening it happened and promptly removed the back cart from service and ensured all other seat belts were in proper working order," the statement read. "The Mouse Trap was back in full operation on Saturday."
