Mars
These dark, narrow, 100 meter-long streaks called recurring slope lineae flowing downhill on Mars are believed to have been formed by contemporary flowing water. NASA announced September 28, 2015 that they found clear evidence of intermittent flows of salty water on the Red Planet.

Georgia - execution

Georgia executed the only woman on the state's death row early on Wednesday, marking the first time in 70 years the state has carried out a death sentence on a woman.
Gissendaner, 47, died by injection at 12:21 a.m. EDT.

Record-breaking skydive
This Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 photo provided by Craig O'Brien shows a record-breaking skydiving formation above Perris, Calif. Two-hundred-and-two skydivers from around the world set the record when they all linked up thousands of feet above Southern California. The group formed the largest sequential skydiving formation.

Indian satellite launched

The PSLV-C30 mission included the launching of India's space observatory satellite Astrosat, India's first space observatory. The Astrosat, which has a mission life of five years, will send its data to a control center in the southern Indian city of Bangalore.

Guatemala - landslide

Heavy rains swept a torrent of boulders and mud over dozens of homes late on October 1 in Santa Catarina Pinula on the southeastern flank of Guatemala City, one of the worst mudslides to hit the poor Central American country in recent memory.
