Three charged in killing of Md. transplant survivor

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Montgomery County police say they've charged three people in the death of a 26-year-old kidney-transplant survivor killed in his home earlier this month.

Police said Wednesday that 26-year-old Samantha Parker, 33-year-old Latoya Morgan, and 34-year-old Dion Sobotker were arrested on murder and robbery charges in the death of 26-year-old Jonathan Harris.

Police say Parker was Harris' former girlfriend and had previously threatened him. Police say surveillance video captured Parker, Morgan and Sobotker using Harris' credit card just after his murder.

It's unclear whether Parker, Morgan and Sobotker have attorneys.

Harris had participated in a kidney-transplant exchange involving 32 people in 2010 that was featured on the "Today" show.

Jonathan Harris' kidney failed when he was 12. A donation by his brother also failed, leading him to join the kidney exchange.
