Police: Teen masqueraded as child in porn case

HURST, Texas - Two people, including a male teenager, have been arrested in a suburban North Texas child porn case, in which the teen allegedly enrolled in an elementary school posing as a 12-year-old.

Hurst police say 28-year-old Randy Ray Wesson is jailed on $3 million bail, charged with promoting and selling child pornography and tampering with an official record. CBS DFW reports an arrest warrant indicates Wesson possessed more than 40,000 images of child pornography and admitted to sexually abusing more than 100 children.

A 17-year-old is jailed on a $250,000 bond, charged with possessing child pornography.

A police statement says the porn operation saw the teen enroll as a 12-year-old in the 6th grade at Hurst Hills Elementary School. Detectives say that enrollment was supported by bogus documents presented to the school. Wesson reportedly pretended to be the teen's father and forged the paperwork for his enrollment.

According to CBS DFW, officials say the teen suspect may have been recruiting victims at the school. Detectives are asking parents to report any contact with the pair.

Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District spokesperson Judy Everett told the station, "We are sickened by this, to think this could be happening. And again, that is why I urge parents to talk to your kids. Sit down with them, as uncomfortable and distressing as this conversation might be."

Police Sgt. Craig Teague says the suspects apparently have not hired attorneys yet.
