2nd person dies after bus overturns in Delaware

BEAR, Del. -- Authorities say a second person has died after a tour bus crash in Delaware that left 48 others injured.

Delaware State Police said early Monday that a second woman had died. They said Idil Bahsi, 30, from Istanbul, Turkey, suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital late Sunday night. Her name was not immediately released.

Officials said the accident did not involve other vehicles and happened around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

State Police said that there were 49 passengers on the bus when it overturned while negotiating a curve in an off-ramp. Several were listed in critical condition Sunday night, reports CBS Philly.

Photographs taken at the scene showed the bus lying on the driver's side on a grassy shoulder of a roadway.

Authorities said Hua'y Chen, 54, of New York, was pinned under the bus and killed at the scene. Police told CBS Philly she was ejected from the bus, which then fell on top of her.

"It's almost from like a war zone," Elvis Cruz, who drove past the crash after it happened, told the station. " ... There was no one on the scene without blood on them except for me."

Cruz said he stopped, grabbed a First Aid kit and did what he could to help. "Everyone was crying and bleeding out and screaming for help," he said.

Authorities said the sightseeing group had been traveling from Washington, D.C., to New York.

They said the cause of the crash was under investigation and any charges against the driver of bus company would be the result of that investigation.
