WASHINGTON -- The FBI has a person in custody it says is responsible for shooting incidents near the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland, on a nearby highway, and at other locations in the D.C.-Baltimore area over the last two weeks, CBS radio affiliate WTOP in Washington reports.

An FBI spokeswoman told the station early Wednesday that the agency took a man into custody after a report of shots fired Tuesday night near the NSA.

Tuesday afternoon, shots were fired on the Intercounty Connector, about 12 miles from the NSA. Police say one vehicle was hit, and one person was injured by broken glass.

Amy Thoreson, of the FBI's Baltimore office, said in a statement early Wednesday, "We believe the subject responsible for shooting incidents on the ICC, near Fort Meade Army installation and other locations around the Baltimore-Washington metro area in the last two weeks is in custody. We don't have further information at this time."

The Baltimore Sun reports authorities are looking into whether Tuesday's shootings were related to one at the Arundel Mills shopping complex last Tuesday, and two shootings Monday -- one at a Walmart in Laurel, Maryland and the AMC Theater at The Mall in Columbia, Maryland.
