Cops: Maine teen caught driving nearly 150 mph in Dodge Neon
PITTSFIELD, Maine – A teenager is facing several charges after police clocked him driving almost 150 miles per hour on the interstate Wednesday.
According to the Maine State Police, Lt. Bruce Scott heard a dispatch alert that a speeding “blue sports car” on Interstate 95 was headed in his direction. Two minutes later he clocked 18-year-old Tyler Barrows driving a blue Dodge Neon 146 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.
Barrows was arrested and faces charges including criminal speed, failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to provide proof of inspection.
Lt. Scott, who heads up the Traffic Safety Division for the Maine State Police noted that in his entire career in law enforcement, he had never clocked someone travelling at such a high rate of speed.
