Taylor Swift went to jury duty instead of the VMAs
Why wasn’t Taylor Swift at the 2016 MTV VMAs? Because she had jury duty, of course.
While ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris was busy not thanking her and nemesis Kanye West was dropping her name once again at the VMAs, Swift herself was nowhere to be seen Sunday night.
As it turns out, she had a very good reason for not making the trip to New York -- aside from not being up for any major awards, that is. Swift started a stint of jury duty in Nashville on Monday, enthusiastic fans revealed on Twitter.
Never let it be said that Swift isn’t committed to fulfilling her civic duties.
