Ex-"Mrs. Orange County" suspected of selling child porn

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- Police say a former local beauty queen allegedly used a 4-year-old relative to create child pornography, which was sold to a Marine, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, a former "Mrs. Orange County," was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of producing and distributing child pornography and of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. She faces federal charges in the case.

She is accused of sending sexually explicit imagines of the victim to the Marine in exchange for cash and gifts, Hallock said.

Alt is also suspected of advertising unspecified services online that sometimes led to her having sex with clients in exchange for money, with her children present, Hallock alleged.

Investigators were led to Halt after the Naval Criminal Investigative Service alerted federal and county law enforcement about the child pornography, according to Hallock. It is unclear if the Marine who received the images is facing charges.

Winner of the Ms. Orange County pageant last year and a competitor in the 2014 Mrs. California contest, Alt is also an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente and Irvine, where investigators believe she worked with young children as a volunteer, Hallock said.

Alt was booked on $100,000 bail and will appear in court Friday.
