The EPpy Awards competition, sponsored by Editor & Publisher and MediaWeek magazines, honors excellence in online work by media companies. Besides CBSNews.com, the other finalists for this category were CNN.com, Discovery.com and ESPN.com. The New York Times captured the most awards, winning three EPpy's in this year’s competition: Best Business Blog, for NYTimes.com/DealBook; Best News Web site and Best Overall Newspaper-Affiliated Web Site (both with more than one million unique monthly visitors) for NYTimes.com. The EPpy Awards were presented Thursday during a gala luncheon sponsored by the Knight Foundation, during the Editor & Publisher/Mediaweek Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas. Awards were presented in 36 categories for excellence in online media, both for design and for content. CBSNews.com, the Internet service of CBS News, previously won EPpy Awards in 2003 and 2006.
