Bodies of Atlanta rapper, cousin discovered after 2 weeks missing
The bodies of an Atlanta rapper and his cousin who went missing nearly two weeks ago were both found in Alabama, authorities say.
CBS affiliate WGCL-TV reports the body of 29-year-old Edward Reeves, whose stage name was Bambino Gold, was found in a wooded area in Macon County, Alabama, on Friday evening. The body of his 30-year-old cousin Kendrick Stokes, who was a concert promoter, was discovered early Saturday morning about 3 miles away.
Authorities said they are investigating their deaths as homicides.
The pair were last seen driving a white Honda on Nov. 5. They had traveled to Alabama from Atlanta for a performance at a bar in Montgomery, Alabama, AL.com reports.
Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunson told the website that someone walking in the area discovered Reeves' body, and police searched the area overnight, leading to the discovery of Stokes' body.
"They were not far off of the road at all,'' Brunson told AL.com. "It looks like somebody placed them there. I don't think they were killed there."
Reeves and Stokes visited a friend the night of Nov. 5 and went missing that night. Felicia Stokes Webster, Stokes' mother, said the pair "vanished into thin air."
