Calif. woman found alive two days after car goes off cliff

MALIBU, Calif.-- A California woman missing for two days was found alive Wednesday after her car was found down a ravine in Malibu, CBS Los Angeles KCAL reports.

Jenifer Duron, 40, was rescued after a jogger heard her screaming for help around 8 a.m. Duron's white Kia Sorento was found 50 feet down the side of a hill at Pacific Coast Highway and Latigo Canyon Road. The jogger didn't have a cell phone with her and had to jog all the way home to call 911.

Once crews reached the car, they found Duron inside alive. She was injured, but conscious during the entire rescue, authorities said.

KCAL reports Duron was carried up the hillside in a rescue basket, then taken to a hospital in an ambulance, county fire Inspector Randall Wright said.

Authorities released Duron's picture Tuesday after she didn't return from her run. She had told her family she was going to a Malibu beach for a run.
