The storm developed in the southeast on Friday and moved up the coast on Saturday, the National Weater Service told CBS News. Avalon, New Jersey and other areas along the coast flooded as the rain poured down on the coast on the mid-Atlantic states. The area was hit with 30 to 35 mph wind gusts and up to 2 inches of rain hit.

Even wtih the storm moving north, the mid-Atlantic area could still see a thunderstorm on Sunday, the National Weather Service said.

But the Midwest moms will be smiling, Gardner reports. Sunshine is in the forecast, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
