Body found in trunk of car believed to missing Ohio woman

GREENVILLE, Ohio -- Authorities say a man suspected of holding his girlfriend against her will has been arrested in Ohio with a body believed to be his girlfriend's in the trunk of his car.

CBS affiliate WOIO reports that a Darke County Sheriff's deputy responded to a report of a car in a ditch on Wednesday morning. When police arrived they found the driver, 56-year-old Roy Owens, Jr., outside the car holding a knife. He was reportedly impaired and wearing only underwear and socks. Police say Owens put the knife up to his neck and tried to cut his wrists. Deputies were eventually able to take Owens into custody.

When deputies checked the trunk of his 2001 Buick LeSabre, the station reports they discovered a dead body believed to be Linnea Satterfield.

Satterfield, 56, was reported missing Monday, July 17, by her sister. The station reports that while searching her home, detectives noticed signs that some sort of struggle had taken place. Traces of blood were also found on the floor, according to Elyria Police.

According to the station, Elyria police detectives believed that Owens, her estranged boyfriend, was holding Linnea against her will.

WOIO reports that woman who lives across the street from where the couple lived for more than 20 years told them she'd seen "a lot of arguments in the past, really bad."
