Hacker questions

As the U.S. comes closer to publicly blaming North Korea for the Sony cyberattack, former Anonymous hacker Hector Monsegur is raising doubts. He should know, because he once hacked into Sony. Hopeful Havana

"CBS Evening News" anchor Scott Pelley reports from the Cuban capital that people there are waking up to a new reality. Although it's still far too early for people to feel any impact, there's a sense that this can only be a good thing. People in Havana feel that economic conditions will improve as trade restrictions loosen and visits by American tourists are made easier.

Normalizing's limits

When President Obama announced his intent to begin normalizing relations with Cuba yesterday, he acknowledged that his power is limited. Health Care Costs poll

A CBS News/NY times poll showed that 52 percent of Americans say they find basic medical care affordable, but that's down from 61 percent last December. Today, for 46 percent of Americans, paying for medical care is a hardship, up 10 points. Similarly, just over half of Americans are at least somewhat satisfied with their health care costs, while 43 percent are dissatisfied.

A year ago, Gracie West was diagnosed with cancer, and since then, she's had nine rounds of chemotherapy. CBS News correspondent Allen Pizzey reports the eleven-year-old's one wish was to meet the Pope, and her wish came true in the form of a papal blessing.

States funding college?

For generations, state governments have been the biggest funding source for public colleges and universities. Not anymore. It probably won't come as a surprise to college students and their parents, but families are now shouldering the biggest financial brunt at state universities, according to a new study from the federal Government Accountability Office.
