Nearly 30 tornadoes darkened the skies over Oklahoma and Texas on Tuesday, reports CBS News correspondent Vicente Arenas.

One ripped across the North Texas town of Runaway Bay. Early Wednesday morning, search and rescue crews looked through the rubble.

Hours before, the storm closed in the small resort town on Mineral Wells.

Sheets of metal spilled onto one of the city's main streets, blocking traffic. The roof of one building was partially ripped off and at least two churches were damaged. Power lines were split and telephone poles were left dangling.

"As soon as it, I guess, touched, debris flew up in the air -- a bunch of a big black shingles," one person said.

Parts of the Plains are inching toward record rainfall for the month of May.

A drone captured the flooded North Concho River, near San Angelo, Texas, which crested at its highest level in more than 40 years.

More hail, wind and rain are in the forecast for this week, so the flooding might not disappear anytime soon. The good news however, is that in the Runaway Bay community, no serious injuries have been reported so far.
