Winter's last storm?
One more winter storm is hitting nearly 100 million Americans. People in Philadelphia are preparing for a messy commute due to a storm that's expected to continue all day. Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., the government is taking a snow day again and schools are closed. The storm is also not sparing those in the South, but it's more than just the snow causing concern for millions from Texas to Tennessee. CBS News Correspondents Vinita Nair and Chip Reid report on this storm that stretches from Texas to Massachusetts.
Battle for Tikrit
Iraqi forces are pushing into the suburbs of Tikrit. It's the fourth day of an effort to take back Saddam Hussein's hometown from ISIS fighters. CBS News correspondent Holly Williams spoke with a former American colonel who now advises the Kurds in their fight against the extremists.
China's billionaires club
One of the most important events on China's political calendar gets underway in Beijing. The National People's Congress opens its 10-day annual meeting. Increasingly, the gathering to represent the Communist Party masses is becoming a club for ultra-wealthy capitalists. Civil rights poll
The Selma to Montgomery marches of 1965 culminated in the 1965 Voting Rights Act, a landmark piece of legislation that led to the enfranchisement of blacks in the South who faced multiple barriers to voting despite the guarantees laid out in the 14th and 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. A CBS News poll shows how Americans feel now about the achievements of the civil right movement.
Ferguson report
The Justice Department has released the reasoning behind its decision not to prosecute former Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson. CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann reports on the findings, which also paint the department as plagued by racism.
Calls for action
The"60 Minutes" report that found high levels of cancer-causing formaldehyde in flooring made in China and sold by Lumber Liquidators brought a call on Capitol Hill yesterday for a federal investigation. Understandably, reports CBS News Correspondent John Blackstone, homeowners whose families walk on that flooring every day want to know what they should do.
Dark horse
If former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb runs for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, he'll do so as a man with very little to lose. And for Hillary Clinton, the party's undeclared front runner, that might be a big problem.
Key number
When the Department of Labor offers its February employment report tomorrow, the figure hogging most of the attention, as usual, will be the number of jobs the economy added during the month. But there's a more important number to zero on in gauging the strength of the recovery: the monthly rise in workers' earnings.
