Out of the woods
The man who evaded capture for more than six weeks after allegedly killing a Pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another has been arrested. Eric Frein was taken into custody yesterday, officials said. A law enforcement source told CBS News that Frein was carrying a handgun and sniper rifle at the time of his capture.
Rocky mountain race
Republican Cory Gardner and incumbent Democrat Mark Udall will tell you the economy is issue number one. But their ads tell a different story. As CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes reports, Sen. Udall won the women's vote by 15 points six years ago. But polls show a smaller gap this time.
Pot competition
Washington state made history in 2012 as one of the first states in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana. So far, it's been a financial boon for the state -- retail stores have reaped millions since they opened in July. Since then, many Oregonians have zipped over the border to enjoy legal pot, but on Tuesday, Oregon will vote on its own marijuana law.
Who pays for Ebola?
When all is said and done, the price tag to become Ebola-ready could cost one New York hospital system between $10 and 15 million, though it remains unclear who will ultimately pay the bill. A spokesperson for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation told CBS News the priority right now is to provide the best possible care for Dr. Craig Spencer , who tested positive for Ebola last week. The medical bills will be dealt later.
Red Cross
This week marked the second anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, the second costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. Now, a report by investigative journalism organization ProPublica and NPR claims the American Red Cross mismanaged its response to Sandy and other disasters.
