Ted Cruz: on competing with Donald Trump

"I like Donald Trump. When everyone else has gone out of their way to smack Donald Trump, I have not. I'm glad he's running, but I've also said, 'Look, I'm running for president.' I believe I'm going to be the nominee and I believe in time, the lion's share of his supporters and for that matter - we're competing for the supporters of every candidate whether it's Jeb Bush or Rand Paul or Mike Huckabee or Marco Rubio, we're competing for all of their supporters - so of course, I believe we're going to win...

"When I say I believe we're going to win, a bunch of media folks write the story, 'Cruz turns on Trump.' Well, look we are competing against each other. He apparently believes he's going to win. I believe that I'm going to win, and the voters are going to decide which one of us is right." -- at town hall meeting in Fort Dodge, Iowa

Mike Huckabee: Obama is "obsessed with climate change"

"[T]his president is obsessed with climate change while the rest of the world understands the real danger of Islamic fanaticism. I think that he thinks a sunburn is worse than a beheading and most of us think that's nonsense." -- interviewed on Fox Business

Huckabee was responding to this quote from President Obama, on Russia's involvement in Syria:

"[I]f you think that running your economy into the ground and having to send troops in in order to prop up your only ally is leadership, then we've got a different definition of leadership. My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change, an international accord that potentially we'll get in Paris. --interviewed on CBS News' "60 Minutes"

Chris Christie: Obama is "weakling in the White House"

"And this weakling in the White House- who got pushed around last night, by the way, by Steve Kroft. We saw that. I mean pushed around by Kroft. I mean, when Kroft starts pushing the president around because he's basically been his, you know, buddy for the last seven years..."

Donald Trump: "It was all negative"

"I thought he did not do a good job, I think that our country has nothing but problems, therefore nothing but negative. It was all negative last night on '60 Minutes.' We don't have the victories anymore. We don't have the victories. You have a president who honestly I thought was not good on '60 Minutes' last night."--press gaggle in Manchester, New Hampshire

Donald Trump: The issue he and Sanders agree on

"[H]e (Sanders) knows we are being ripped off on trade, and he's the one politician that talks about it. Outside of Bernie Sanders, I'm the only one that talks about it. So, if you talk about the one issue that we can get along with - I am very, very strong about having great trading deals. We have horrible trading deals and are losing tremendous amounts of jobs, money and everything else, and I don't think to the extent that I believe in it, but at least Bernie Sanders believes in that, to a certain extent."
