Hillary Clinton launched into the final weekend before the New Hampshire primary with an upbeat new speech aimed at pitching young voters on a message of optimism and activism.

At a state Democratic party dinner in Manchester on Friday, where Bernie Sanders and Clinton both spoke, Clinton asked voters to "imagine a tomorrow" in which education lifted them up, and student debt didn't drag them down, where young people have the opportunities and choices they deserve, and where more entrepreneurs can start and grow new businesses.

"If I have the honor of serving as your president," Clinton told them, "I will spend all my tomorrows doing everything I can to make your tomorrows better." The riff had the ring of a speech Bill Clinton gives on his wife's behalf.

Hillary Clinton worked hard during her speech to convince the audience that she was the better choice for the country. And she also told them that while she still hoped to persuade them to vote for her, she was "truly glad" they were involved in the process and the Democratic party, and she praised the energy, ideas and urgency they brought to what she called their shared causes.

Sanders, on the other hand, stuck to his talking points before the massive crowd in the event center.

He pledged to enact a "political revolution," break up big financial institutions and enact new social programs, including single-payer health insurance.

Locked in an increasingly combative race, the former secretary of state and Vermont senator are powering toward Tuesday's primary. Sanders leads in the New Hampshire polls, though Clinton has the advantage in national surveys.

Clinton says that she shares the liberal ideals espoused by Sanders, but argued she has more practical plans to get things done.
