Ted Cruz campaign pulls ad because of actress' porn history
Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is yanking an ad released Thursday, after a news outlet reported that one actress in the spot had previously starred in soft-core pornography.
The ad, featuring a faux rehab group of former Marco Rubio supporters, attacked the Florida senator as a supporter of amnesty for undocumented immigrants and in league with Senate Democrats.
One woman derided Rubio as just another "pretty face."
According to BuzzFeed News, that woman, Amy Lindsay, had featured in movies with titles like "Erotic Confessions," "Carnal Wishes," and "Insatiable Desires."
After learning of Lindsay's filmography, the Cruz campaign later said it would take down the thirty-second spot.

"The actress responded to an open casting call," said Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the Cruz campaign told Buzzfeed. "She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial."
Lindsay, a Christian conservative and a Republican, also reportedly told Buzzfeed that she was under the impression the campaign had known of her past.
"I have clearly talked to the filmmakers and stuff and just to be clear, I assumed that they knew," Lindsay said. "But none of the filmmakers or the casting director knew about my complete filmography in the past that you're talking about, so I was wrong in that statement."
