During a visit to a Denver bar on Tuesday night, President Obama and Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., shared a beer and a game of pool, but one patron couldn't resist offering the president a little something extra.

"Do you want to hit this?" a man was overheard asking Mr. Obama in a video posted online by Instagram user manton89.

"Asked him if he wanted to hit a hit of pot...he laughed!" the user wrote in the video's caption.

Although pot is legal for recreational use in Colorado, unfortunately for the man, the president did not accept the offer. He just laughed and moved on.

The president traveled to Colorado for a planned speech on the economy and a fundraiser on Wednesday. When he arrived on Tuesday, he had dinner with five Colorado residents who'd written him letters about the economy. After dinner, he decided to greet the crowd that had formed on the sidewalk by the restaurant, where he shook hands at one point with a man wearing a horse head.

Before calling it a night, the president decided to head to the Wynkoop Brewing Company, the bar in Denver where he met Hickenlooper.

The president and the Colorado governor, who happens to be one of the bar's co-founders, ordered beers and played a game of pool. When another patron offered to buy the president a beer, he replied, "It's too late, man, I just got one."

The pool game did not go well for Hickenlooper. When the game was over, the president asked the press pool to note the number of balls the governor left on the table. "Five," he said. "Five."
