Rugby player runs through a brick wall, literally

Using the phrase "I've run into a brick wall," usually means the gig is up. An Australian rugby player is hoping his run-in with a brick wall is his ticket to the big time.

Australian David Andjelz posted a video on Facebook currently going viral that he said was designed to get interest from the country's National Rugby League, the world's NFL equivalent for the sport.

In an interview with a friend, Andjelz said he wants a rookie contract, and that he'd seen videos of other prospects lifting weights, and that he believed that didn't really show anything.

"It makes you better physically, but it's what's here that counts," he said, thumping on his chest.

With a short runway, Andjelz then runs through a wall of bricks some friends had been stacking and holding in place.

After smashing through the pile while holding a brick as an apparent rugby ball stand-in, Andjelz falls down, pops right up and strides away with a puffed-out chest. He later shows off the bloody wounds and scratches the bricks gave him, in case any of us doubted Australians were crazy enough to pull such a stunt for real.
